Clinical exercise physiology, applied to whatever your body needs.
Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, returning to sport, or simply want to train smarter — every Atleta program starts the same way: a 60-minute assessment, an evidence-based plan, and reviews every four weeks.
Post-surgical & musculoskeletal rehabilitation
Recovery is the bridge between surgery or injury and the life you want back. Most people get great care for the first six weeks — then get handed a print-out and told to keep moving. Atleta picks up exactly there. Working alongside your surgeon, GP or physiotherapist, Neil designs a 12-week clinical exercise program that systematically rebuilds strength, mobility and confidence — without the guesswork.
Who it's for
- Knee, hip, shoulder & ankle reconstructions
- Back pain, sciatica & disc-related conditions
- Post-mastectomy & cancer recovery
- ACL, rotator cuff & meniscus repairs
- Tendinopathies (Achilles, patellar, gluteal, elbow)
- Anyone stuck between physio and 'normal' training
What's included
- 60-min initial assessment with movement screening
- Detailed report shared with your treating team
- Personalised 12-week program
- Hands-on technique coaching every session
- Reviews every 4 weeks with re-testing
- Email support between sessions
Pre & post-natal exercise physiology
Pregnancy and the post-partum period are some of the most physically demanding seasons of life — and the most under-served by mainstream fitness. Neil works with expecting and new mums on safe, evidence-based programming that respects what your body is doing right now and prepares it for what's next: birth, recovery, and parenting a small human.
Who it's for
- Expecting mums (any trimester)
- Post-partum recovery (6 weeks onwards)
- Pelvic floor & core rehabilitation
- Diastasis recti rebuilding
- Returning to running or sport after birth
- Pregnancy with complications (under medical clearance)
What's included
- Detailed pre/post-natal screening
- Pelvic floor & deep core assessment
- Trimester-appropriate strength program
- Birth-prep conditioning (3rd trimester)
- Return-to-running protocols
- Coordination with your GP, OB, midwife or pelvic physio
Chronic disease management
Exercise is medicine — when it's prescribed properly. For chronic conditions, the right intensity, frequency and exercise selection is the difference between meaningful improvement and an expensive gym membership. Neil's approach is research-based, individualised, and designed to integrate with your medical team's plan, not compete with it.
Who it's for
- Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes
- Cardiovascular disease, hypertension, post-stroke
- Osteoporosis & osteopenia
- Arthritis (osteo & rheumatoid)
- Cancer recovery & active treatment
- Depression & anxiety
- Chronic pain (back, neck, joint)
- Chronic fatigue & long COVID
What's included
- Comprehensive health screening
- Liaison with your GP, specialist or oncologist
- Risk-stratified exercise prescription
- Progressive 12-week structured program
- Quarterly reviews & re-testing
- Detailed reporting for care plans
Sport performance & longevity
Whether you're an over-50 weekend warrior or a competitive athlete, sport-specific performance work is about understanding the demands of your sport and conditioning your body to meet them — without breaking it in the process. Neil draws on 20+ years working with elite athletes (including the Parramatta Eels NRL) and recreational players, applying the same principles to whatever sport you love.
Who it's for
- Golfers, tennis players, surfers (40–80)
- Runners (any distance, any age)
- Cyclists, triathletes & endurance athletes
- Team sport returnees & masters athletes
- Anyone serious about playing into their 70s & 80s
- Competitive athletes wanting structured S&C
What's included
- Movement & performance assessment
- Sport-specific strength & power program
- Injury-prevention protocols
- Mobility flow tailored to your sport
- Programmed deload & peaking phases
- Optional access to sport-specific Playbooks (Golf, Tennis, Surf)
University-qualified personal training
A Cert IV personal trainer can be qualified in two weeks. An Accredited Exercise Physiologist takes four years of university training plus ongoing accreditation. If you're going to invest in 1:1 coaching, the difference matters. Neil's personal training sessions combine the precision of clinical exercise physiology with the practical results most people want: stronger, fitter, leaner, more confident in their body.
Who it's for
- People over 40 who want serious, structured training
- Body composition & strength goals
- Returning to fitness after a long break
- Anyone tired of 'cookie-cutter' gym programs
- High-functioning professionals with limited time
What's included
- Initial fitness & body composition testing
- Goal-mapped 12-week training program
- Progressive overload with detailed tracking
- Form coaching every session
- Optional nutrition guidance & accountability
- Re-testing & program updates every 8 weeks
NDIS & workers compensation
Funded exercise physiology, without the administrative headache. Whether you're an NDIS participant building functional capacity or recovering from a workplace injury, the clinical work is the same as any other Atleta program — what changes is the paperwork, the reporting and the number of people who need to be kept in the loop. Neil handles all of it directly, so you can put your attention where it belongs: on the rehabilitation.
Who it's for
- NDIS participants (self-managed & plan-managed)
- Workers compensation & return-to-work clients
- Capacity building — improved daily living & health and wellbeing
- Clients with a case manager or rehab consultant involved
- Long-term conditions needing supervised exercise
- Anyone who has been told their funding is 'too complicated'
What's included
- 60-min initial assessment with functional capacity screening
- Goal-aligned program written against your plan or claim
- Progress reports for your plan manager, insurer or case manager
- Liaison with your GP, specialist and rehab consultant
- Invoicing formatted for your funding body
- Reviews timed around your plan or claim review dates
